The first half of this decade has seen some great and successful movies for time travel. We start in 2010 with the release of the comedy Hot Tub Time Machine. We come into the new millennium having survived Y2K. During the decade we would see the iPhone, Facebook and YouTube launch. While in movies we would see multiple big releases including The Dark Knight, Gladiator, Mean Girls and The Departed. The 1990s are a huge decade for movies. Many big stars would shine including Kevin Spacey, Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts and Robin Williams. The Disney Renaissance is in full swing where they would release multiple hits like Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King. The 1980s were a huge decade for pop culture. There was MTV, Nintendo and Miami Vice. Along with the rise in pop culture came bigger movies like Raiders of the Lost Ark, Ghostbusters and The Princess Bride. Time travel would have a presence during the early years of film. It would be seen in from early short films and silent movies to musicals and horror.
